A Raisin in the Sun
Invictus Theatre Company is proud to present Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun.  Set on Chicagos South Side in the 1950s, this 20th Century classic portrays the divergent dreams and conflicts within three generations of an African American family. When her deceased husbands insurance money comes through, Mama Lena dreams of moving to a new home and a better neighborhood in Chicago. Her son Walter Lee, a chauffeur, has other plans: buying a liquor store and being his own man. Daughter Beneatha dreams of medical school. The familys heroic struggle to retain dignity in a harsh and changing world is a searing and timeless document of hope and inspiration.

We look forward to seeing you at the show!  Due to the small size of our theater, we are unable to guarantee late seating, and no refunds will be given due to arriving late to the performance. If arriving past the show's 7:30pm or 3pm start time, you may need to wait until intermission to be sat. If you are driving, please be aware that parking around the theater can be tricky.  Patrons have found parking apps such as Spot Hero helpful in the past, and have advised leaving plenty of time to find a spot if not using an app to reserve a spot.

Please note: The Buena theater is accessible for patrons with accessibility needs.  If you are in need of tickets that require accessible seating, you may purchase tickets through BrownPaperTickets, but please call us at 773-570-0649 or email us at marketing@invictustheatre.com for personalized service.  Leave your name, a phone number where we can reach you, and the date on which you will be joining us, and we will get back to you promptly.
